regulars - can you help me find a thread?

I'm trying to find a thread that was on a while ago (I think in the last six months or so). It was started by a mumsnetter who was living with her dp (dh?) and has been given an ultimatum to leave - there were a lot of financial issues (ie he controlled all the money, he considered the family finances as 'his money' and 'her money')and there were also stepchildren involved. I hope I don't cause offence to anyone in trying to find this (least of all to the original poster) but I have just discovered that a friend is in much the same position financially with her dp and would like to be able to direct her to this thread so she knows she's not alone/cas use the advice given. Any help appreciated.

Thanks fairyfly - the step kids bit stuck in my mind (though not relevant to friend) because the step daughter used the mumsnetter's car and wrote it off during the course of the thread. Thanks for thinking though!

I'm sure loads of people could give her advice, seems an all to common occurence. Perhaps you should just start a thread asking about more specific things. I'm awful with the money thing as it was never an issue.

Thanks stickynote and everyone else - that's the thread. I just wanted my friend to know she wasn't alone - she is feeling a bit daft at the moment and I know reading this thread would help her. I'll print it off for her = hope KatieMorag is okay though. Thanks again for your help.
