Feel upset over something stupid.

My ds is not well, been off nursery since last wednesday with some sort of gastro bug. Seemed ok saturday, began to get a temperature last night. Unwell again today, didn't appear to be anything particular, just not well (ifywim). Been to doctors, and he has an ear infection. Caught it while his immunity was low.

Ds is going to miss his christmas concert tomorrow. He can't go, as he is unwell. But I feel so upset for him, feel as if he is missing out on such an important thing.

Has anyone else's dc missed their concert through illness?

And as far as it goes,I know it is only an ear infection, but he is in so much pain as well

That's not a stupid thing to be upset about - it's awful watching your kids being ill and not being able to do much about it.

As for the concert, it is a shame, but there will be plenty of others and I am guessing he's not really in the mood to enjoy it. You could always have a little concert at home when he is better - sing along to some carols etc.

OMG there are so many gastric-bugs going about I'm just surprised any of us are still standing! You;ll on ly get something else if you go and sstand in a hot humid hall to watch everyone sneezing all over the baby jesus. Stay indoors and eat onion soup. Or mashed potato.
