Would you ask the CMS to do an assessment?

My dc's father and I split up just after Christmas. We've never lived together and he has our dc one night a week.

I have never known how much he earns but after she was born he told me he'd used the government calculator to work out how much he should pay in maintenance. I took this on trust.

Since then though he's been a bit untrustworthy about paying me the same amount and would say he could only afford half sometimes. But as far as I know he wasn't earning half. When I questioned it he went back to the old amount.

He has now got another job and is earning significantly more than before (he says). He won't tell me what this job is or who he is working for. He is quite manipulative and I am thinking that maybe I should open a case with the CMS. Then it will all be above board and they can also work out how much to deduct for when she's with him.

I'm autistic so not good at dealing with interpersonal situations.

If I ask the Cms to do a calculation he will hit the roof because he has a real thing about them. But surely it's fair? They only calculate a basic amount don't they?

I don’t think anyone will tell you not to so it’s up to you.

To be honest I am afraid of how he will react.

What can he do? Was he violent?

No but he stalks me sometimes. He will tell me he's at home (over an hour away) and then someone looks out the window and sees him parking near our house.

Of course he is not going to like it

People do not like having their means of controlling you removed.

Get thee to cms and let the tantrums wash over you. If he gets physical call the police

PumpkinKlNG · 17/09/2021 10:18

Well you can call the police if you feel he is harassing you but I bet he won’t he’s probably all talk.
