Hi there, am not sure if there are any mn'ers that are massage therapists but thought I would give it a go. I took a one day massage therapy session and am seriously considering taking the full blown course to get a certification in massage. The women that I've spoken to at the school are great, very supportive and motivational.
I would love to hear from anyone that is a massage therapist and what the pros and cons are of the chosen profession. Was it difficult to find a job once you were certified? Anything I should look out for?

Any advice is welcome.
Thanks!

Im a fully qualified beauty therapist through ITEC.
I really enjoyed the course and found massage to be one of my strong points. Where i worked (center parcs) we did a lot of massage, and it is very hard work. You have to be careful about not causing yourself pain. I found I had a few upper back problems and pain in my hands and wrists.
You will definitely get a job reasonable quickly or you could set up your own business.
If you are good then your clients will come back, and people like to know what you are doing and why, including what oil you are using. Aromatherapy massage is very popular and is a lot less firm than a normal deep tissue massage.
You could always learn sports massage, it depends what area you are interested in.
