Do any other mums prefer to go "commando"?

My mum is 80 next year, and I can't say that she was ever a "leader" in fashion or a "lush"!!!! I just know that she never wore knickers much!!!! She does now, mostly.... lovely large ones! However, at the age of 38, I've never come round to the idea. Admittedley, I only own one skirt and that was a recent purchase, but I prefer going without. I just can't stand the feel of them!! Is this "pervy", dirty, or the like?? It's getting embarrassing when me and DS aged 3 1/2 go around ASDA's or TESCO's clothes sections, and he shouts, "Look mummy, knickers! You don't wear knickers!" I always watch films in which the "lush" apparently" isn't wearing knickers and I feel so "unlushlike", to me it's just normal! What do you think?

I hope you do your bikini line properly, just in case!

Well, it's been over 4 years since anyone's ever "been" there so can't say the "just in case ever comes into it"!!!!

I stopped wearing knickers on a daily basis about ten years ago, as I had vulval vestibulitis which made my bits really, really painful and I couldn't stand the feel of anything against them. I far preferred it, and these days I only wear knickers when I'm expected to take them off, iykwim (for smear tests and the like, before anyone thinks I'm being rude). I don't feel pervy or rude, just a lot more comfortable.

And I do wear clean trousers every day, before anyone asks ...

It's the "clean trousers" aspect that worris me. I have lots more knickers than I have clothes so I'd have to go out and buy enough clothes so I could wash them everyday

codswallop · 10/11/2004 08:20

yes crusty gussets

shudder

pinkmama · 10/11/2004 08:33

ooh, no knickers, so much more comfortable, but only do it in summer - not sure why tbh!

WigWamBam · 10/11/2004 08:40

No crusty gussets, Coddy, but it does mean I've always got the washing machine on

There is no way I could ever go without knickers - just couldn't do it. I think I'm a tad anal
