i will be moving into my own place tomorrow, there is a BT line installed but as the previous tenants didn't use it the landlord has no idea what the number is......so i can't get through to BT on their freephone number as you have to enter the number you are phoning about......i can't email them because all their enquiry forms require.....you guessed it....the phone number.....

i tried using this number (i'm still living with my ex)....but the lady i spoke to couldn't understand what i was trying to explain to her and she actually hung up on me!

there must surely be some way of getting in touch with BT to have this line connected?
can anyone help me at all?

Is it connected? If so you can call yourself tomorrow from that number ie to your mobile and the number will come up on the display. Or phone a friend and they can do 1471 and tell you what the number is.

So is the line connected? If so, can't you phone someone and get them to do 1471? If it's not connected, then you'll need BT to allocate another number to it, won't you?

not connected......i've just phoned every number i could find for BT and after lots of automated bits i finally got a human being in sales who is sorting me.....

bit daft though that you need a phone number to get through their systems......what do brand new customers do?
