Long stop date - new build

We have been given a long stop date for our completion on our new build house.

If you have experience of this, how likely is the completion date to go beyond the long stop date given? Was it earlier or later in your experience?

Only if something significant happens like major natural disaster / act of terrorism or something like the house burning down when it's beetle built - anything that might require it to be wholly re built

Developers generally try and get it earlier if they can especially if it's close to their financial year end or if they missed their targets on another month or need cash in
