Ford KA?

my Dh drives one and he is 6ft. He loves it.

Katymac · 29/11/2007 19:46

Thanks Joss - but we testdrove that about 3.5 yrs ago and his knees where up in the steering wheel

I guess he has out-of-proportionly long legs

can you wait til janurary when they launch the new fiat 500.

Katymac · 29/11/2007 19:48

I'm not into Fiat atm - the local garage is a bit crap (what's the 500?)

nissan micra? dh drives mine sometimes and is very omfortable. He's 6'6".

Katymac · 29/11/2007 22:05

Really - we must have a look

I'm not sure the issue is his legs actually - I wonder if it's street cred....he said he would be fine on a mini

Any more suggestion

The new volvo c30? We're mulling over those at the moment for dh's new car.
My dh is only 6 feet tall though. Don't know if that makes a difference.

BIL (who is 6 ft 7) has a Honda Civic, so they must have loads of leg room. Might seem a bit big after a smart car (and they have poor rear visibility because of that dreadful spoiler across the rear window).

MerryAnnSinglemas · 30/11/2007 14:12

I'd get a Citroen C3 Pluriel

Katymac · 30/11/2007 14:38

Hmm

I hate car shopping

I'd just go & buy the same a s the other one - but they are quite rare

I know you said your local fiat garage is crap but....
I just had to sell my fabulous mini cooper as i'm going part time after having my DS so needed to save some money. I begrudgingly agreed to get a fiat panda and have to say IT'S BLOODY BRILLIANT!
It has a really high driving position for such a small car, loads of room inside, 5 doors, decent boot and plenty of features as standard. I thought i'd be gutted and would compare it to the mini all the time as i'm really into cars and have loved having a fast, sporty one but i'm not at all disappointed just pleasantly surprised!
Hope you end up with something fab!

Katymac · 01/12/2007 07:47

Thanks I hope so too - however the garage is thinking they might be able to fix it now - so fingers crossed for that instead

OP posts:
BBBee · 01/12/2007 07:49

hope you get it fixed - it sounds like a macho issue to me!

Katymac · 01/12/2007 07:54

Yep - his mum suggested he buy a ford fiesta - his face turned white - you can just see a 6ft 2 Jamaican getting out of a fiesta

The Smart was fine for him - everyone was interested in it (cos it's rare) and it's a nippy little bugger

FGS don;t buy a Fiat - it'll fall apart before you know it!!

I have a Hyundai Getz, bought it from new about 14mths ago, and have had 14mths trouble free motoring. Know some tall people who have them, no problem. Some good deals on atm.

BBBee · 01/12/2007 08:05

oh god katy - he so needs the cool factor or it won't work. I have a toyota yaris which is safe, reliable, economical etc etc etc but one thing it is not is cool!

get the smart fixed - there is too much at stake!

Katymac · 01/12/2007 09:29

That's what I think

My dad can't believe how sad dh is....... I can
