Hi,

Probably the wrong place to post this but not sure where it belongs ... can anyone help me as I'm driving myself mad ...

I'm currently (trying) to crochet a hat that uses trellis stitch, when it comes to making the little diamonds I can do the first row (first triangle bit) but when it comes to doing the treble crochet row I'm always a few stitches short. The patten says I should have 80 stitches but I'm always out. I've unpicked, placed stitch markers in, redone it unpicked again... does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? The patten says to crochet into the top of the 'Fptrc2tog' stitches...??

Thanks 😊

What pattern is it, do you have a link?

Do you crochet in the round or in lines. I always discount my starting chain so I always have one extra stitch on each row which I incorporate I to the seam. As I am a loose knitter I do the first turning chai one stitch less. Ou will get series of small loops up each side of the works. These are hidden when the garment is stitched.

If you are working in the round then you should buy the Amigurumi stitch markers to keep your work correct . They are like little padlocks and are brilliant.

Hope I have not confused you

Can you show us a photo of your work and the pattern?
