I got one of the emails @LizziesTwin mentions sent to my work email. address. I yelped when I saw the subject line and everyone else in the open plan office looked up.

As for Mrs Kyle, OP, - I’d reply saying that you are a Nigerian Prince from the late 90s and you’d like your scam back please.

What a coincidence! You wrote to my friend in 2018 with the same health condition and prognosis! I am pleased to hear your treatment has obviously meant that you didn't die within the timescale previously predicted - don't give up hope this time. I suggest you invest your money back into the hospital that has given you an additional 3 years so that others can benefit.
