Hi everyone I bought a digital camera on ebay a while ago and it's just deleted a load of pics! Not happy!! I cant get into ebay because I typed my phone number one digit wrong so they've blocked me till i send them ID!?! Could someone do an ebay search for a Digital Dream Quantum 3.2 digital camera and let me know the sellers. I cant remember the name of them - i know they are scottish and are a power seller or a shop that sells loads of them.
Big thanks!!

I've found only one entry for a Digital dream quantum but it's a 3.1 (nothing under the 3.2 search).
The seller is a store called Seal technologies. Could that be it?

oooggs · 07/11/2004 19:43

Scottish_sterling is the name of the seller. Is that all you wanted?

zephyrcat · 07/11/2004 19:44

zephyrcat - DH is now here, what do you want to know about memory cards?

zephyrcat · 07/11/2004 19:57

I boought a cheap mmc from ebay for this camera and has worked fine until now - it has 'lost a whole load of pics - although when i connect the camera to the pc some of them appear so there's obviously a prob with the card - just wondering if theres anything i can do with it? Prob a long shot!!

Try this:

With camera connected to PC save the photos you can access then delete them from the memory card. When the memory card is empty, try reformatting it. It also may not be the memory card, it could be the software, or the memory card may be full.

This is all in 'DH' speak - means nothing to me

zephyrcat · 07/11/2004 20:08

I did try that - but all the pics i took today aren't showing up when the camera is connected to the pc - I'm scared to format the card just in case they are still on there somewhere but the card is just being awkward!!! Thanks loads for your help

No worries - good luck

MrsBigD · 07/11/2004 20:11

could also be the software. How do you connect the card? via camera or via card reader?
I had a problem once that only a few pics were showing. The reason... the drivers were not compatible with Windows 2000 hence the problems. If I used it in Windows 98 it was all there...

zephyrcat · 07/11/2004 20:21

the card is connected via the camera - i just plug the camera into the pc with a usb cable. I will try reloading the camera's software and see how it goes. Can't bear to lose the pics we've just spent the day at stonhenge in the pourting rain ! lol (but the pics were really good!!)

It may well be the software. My parents gave me their digital camera and my brother (computer whiz) insisted that I didn't use the usb connector and software that came with the camera as they are often buggy and unreliable. Instead he suggested I buy a usb card reader. You can find them online for not very much money. Get a multiple card reader as they aren't much more money than a single card reader and you may find other uses for it. I use mine to transfer photos from my mobile and my old digital camera.
In the meantime take your memory card to your local boots or snappy snaps and see whether their photo reader can read the photos off the card. That should let you know if they are still there.
By the way, have you tried restarting your computer? And also you may want to go to the Dream Quantum website and make sure that you have the lastest software for the camera on your computer.

Thanks SA, I will have to check out their website and see what they say. I reckon it's prob the card tho as it was a real cheap one and I can't view the pics on the camera either. Will try it in the Boots Kodak machine and see if I can print them off that way.
Thanks for your help
