Changes to this section

Hi all,
Just to let you know, we are making some changes to the various chat sections on Mumsnet and are planning to combine this topic with the more active Chat topic next week. All current threads will be moved there too so your conversations won't be lost.

We understand some users may find this disruptive but having lots of different topics makes navigation tricky and leads to similar discussions happening in multiple places. Where topics are lightly used and it makes sense to combine them we will, but we wanted to let you know before making any changes.

Have you thought about moving topics out to other areas - Elderly Parents for example to relationships which could be a natural home for it.
Having to trawl through Chat to find Elderly Parents posts in amongst the general topics in Chat will be difficult if not impossible
You talk about similar discussions happening in different places - in this case i don't think that that is the case for Elderly Parents which many use regularly for support and advice about what is a specialist (niche) topic. Please consider finding a new home - ie Relationships for this topic rather than letting it merge into the Chat area

Hi @Lifeisdinky - yes, that's a good idea. We can move that thread over to Relationships. If there are any other threads that might benefit from a move to a more relevant section then please report them and we'll take a look.
