Just want to let you guys know that after I move I probally wont be able to go on mumsnet for a few months. Unfortanatly the house we are going to be renting is only for about 3-4 months and I dont think we can use internet. I'm pretty bumbed out about it. I enjoy this sight so much and you all are such helpful people. I guess when I come back I'll have lots of catching up to do.

ohhh threeangels - don't they have an internet cafe or something similar nearby. You cant drop out of sight for months. Anyway, its dangerous to go cold turkey on addictions

Crunchie · 07/10/2002 15:00

Cant you get one of those 'free AOL' trial CDs and sign up using the phone line that is in the rented house? If there is a phone line that accepts outgoing calls that is. This will give you free access for a few weeks at least. WOrth a shot I'd say

ionesmum · 07/10/2002 15:56

Oh, no, Threeangels! I hope that you manage to find some way to keep in touch, otherwise we'll really miss you!

PamT · 07/10/2002 16:11

Our local libraries offer 1 hour free each day and the terminals are never all in use. You could look into these for a quick fix

SueDonim · 07/10/2002 16:29

Yes, you must do something to stay in touch, Threeangels!! Three months is far too long to be away.

threeangels · 08/10/2002 17:12

I thought I wasnt going to be able to log onto mumsnet but I guess I can. I wasnt really thinking that I can use the phone line. Havent done that in so long that I forgot being able too. This house were moving into temp is actually a farm house in a meadow. Never lived in this type of dwelling and I havent even seen it yet. Hopefully I wont go into shock when we pull up Sat.

Threeangles, if you have a library nearby you can sign up - we lived in the US for a year & used library sites - before I knew about Mumsnet of course!

MandyD · 08/10/2002 21:53

Wow, Threeangels, the location of the house sounds fantastic!! Where abouts in the US are you moving to (which State?). And if you've got a phone line you can have a dial-up modem, no problem. That's what AOL's for, after all! LOL!!

threeangels · 08/10/2002 22:03

Hi MandyD - I live in TN now. We are moving to Northern VA 30 min from DC. It really is a big change from TN.

threeangels,
hope your move goes okay, and its not long before you are back online to let us know how you are doing and what the house is like!

Bozza · 09/10/2002 17:04

Hope everything goes well for you Threeangels. I know how you have agonised over whether this move was the right thing or not. I'm sure you've made the best decision for you and your family but that doesn't stop the stress and second thoughts. Anyway good luck.

And sort out your internet connection

Hi SueW - We havent moved yet. Its after midnight and I'm ready to drop over. We have been doing nothing but packing, cleaning and gathering yard sale stuff to make a some moving money. My mom and I have not spoken yet. She doesnt want to at this time. I feel sad for her but I'm also upset with her reaction to the move. I hope things get better. I am a little nervous about the MD,VA, and DC situation but I'm not going to let it upset my move. It does make you kind of weary though.

Glad everything is ok with you dh. Well I'm off to bed. Will keep in touch.

Threeangels, it may be that your mum is upset about the move and doesn't want to speak to you about it for fear of upsetting you or showing this? You've told her quite late (and this isn't a criticism, honest! ) so it will take her a little while to come to terms with it. I'm sure it will all come out right in the end.

Best of luck with the move - I remember that frantic packing all too well.
