Drains blocked...!

... can't use any water... can't wash the pots, can't pop the dishwasher on... can't do the laundry...! what shal i do??? it's a shame.... just have to mooch around on mumsnet!

Couldn't you use a bucket? And just tip it outside afterwards? I had this for about 1 week this time last year while the extension foundations were being dug. Progressed to a large waterbutt which needed emptying every day, to a length of guttering from the sink to the open drain. Felt like I was in Bombay or somewhere.

ah! good old severn trent turned up about 30 mins after i wrote the OP. Very nice man. But blast! had to do the washing up and general housework!
