New child passport online - HELP

Has anyone applied for a child's passport recently? My daughter is 20 months and we fly in august. Sent it off last week (did the online application) a friend of mine (a nurse) confirmed she new my daughter but it's been rejected after 10 days of waiting. I've now had another friend confirm she knows her (she's a teacher) so just wondering how long it usually takes and how long was it till you got the passport?

I've just applied (from overseas) and have been told British passports are taking up to 11 weeks to process due to demand of people wanting to travel again this summer.

@SpaghettiSpoons I know when I applied it was 10 weeks. Just checked and I actually applied on the 1st May but they've only just notified me that it's been rejected.

We applied for a renewal last week and I’ve been told today it’s on the way so hopefully yours won’t be too long.
