Potty training my 3 year old son. He wees in the potty and tells us when he needs to wee. He won’t do a poo in the potty or in the toilet he thinks poos are disgusting, his words, and he will go away to another room or ask you to go away and then does a poo in his pants. Anybody any ideas please.

I work in a nursery and this is very common. For some children if they tell us they need to poo we have to put the nappy back on them and take it off once they've done it.
I think basically they get over it eventually. It's just a short term problem that they won't poo in toilet or potty

Agree with op. It's commonly assumed that when toilet training children click with poking and seeing simultaneously. They are completely different processes (obviously) that they learn at different times. Don't make an issue of it. He will get there.

Thank you MondeoFan that is very reassuring.
