Please do you have any suggestions for a stall for kids at a summer fete (for my mother!)

She has to devise a stall at her village's summer fete next year for children. Could be something crafty or a game they could play.

I suggested stone painting or biscuit/cake decorating.

Has anyone seen or done something really fab for kids at a fete?

The one DSs enjoyed the most at the school fair this year was run by a bathroom company and involved throwing plastic ducks into toilets to try and win prizes.

Which isn't much help really since your mother is unlikely to have a number of assorted sized toilets hanging about...

We did hair braiding too.
And tying silks and plaiting them into hairgrips so they were instant.

The one I liked best at school fêtes as a kid was seeing how far you could sling a welly boot.

We are going to try this at our Christmas Bazaar. Looks like a great idea -- hopefully it will be! It would be really good for a summer fete as well.

Make Grassheads!

Using the legs of tights , put grass seeds in the end, fill with sawdust (from pet shop) so you get a slightly larger than tennis ball sized "head", decorate with glitter glue/buttons/felt shapes etc to make a face.

Children take these away, keep them watered and the grass grows to make "hair"

I saw a candle dipping thing once - you dipped in 3 colours and made a stripey candle.
