Help - its christmas panto costume time again!!!!

Does anyone have any ideas about how to make animal costumes? We have to be a mouse or a teddy (and we have expressed vehement preference for a mouse ). I'm all out of creative thought - can anyone put me out of my misery?

for DS we made cats ears with fur material attactched to a hair band thing it is like a bar over top of head like headphones IYKWIM

he had a tabard shape made from fur and a long tail.

Thanks - but speaking as a complete incompetent regarding sewing how do I do any of those things?

the headband thing ears cut out a shape that is a rhombus fold in half and you have a triangle ear then sew down the other edge

a tabard is a long rectangle fold in half then sew up side seams leaving gap for arm holes cut a hole in hold for head.

tail is long piece of material you could either do inside out and sew length or just use a long strip of material

yes it is I drew one but then it got messed up so anyway if you fold in half you get a triangle I am sorry if I confused it even more.

If you get fur material it wont matter how neat your sewing is.

It may fray though so if you have scissors with serated edge eg childs ones and cut the edge {or pinking shears}

Ooh thanks again - and wouldn't have thought about the serrated edge either - doh! I just DONT DO SEWING !!!! Oh well I'm off to buy some fur! Think I may have to buy double so I've can throw away the first one that I make a mess of
