we were burgled a while back whilst on hols and had 'a friend' looking after the house for us.

Since we came back and looked into our robbery....we found a few things that did not seem typical of a burglar. We were burgled 3 times. The fist two times, burgler came in through patio doors. First burglary we were here...second, neighbour heard racket and called police. But third burglary seems strange. We have double glazing and apparently the burglar broke one handle on window and left other one open?? Does this sound right?? It just doesn't ring true. We also hid stuff under dd toddler bed ad they are so low on the floor, but burglar found stuff......even though they did not really seach anywhere else. We rang friend whist we were away and found out about ssecond burglary and happened to mention the stuff under dd's bed. The we had 3rd burglary and it was gone.......along with a really old dvd player that any burglar would see was woth nothing.

But......my point is, we saw 'friend' today for the first time since being back from hols and I brought up robbery. Said how we got stuff replaced, etc...and i luaghed about the dvd player being on the verge of breaking and now we have a brand new and better one. 'Friends' comment was 'what, are you serious, was it about to break?' I laughed again and said yes, it didn't really play many dvd's anymore and 'friend' sat silent......not even a comment like, serves burglar right or anything.

Is this a normal comment???

ps, sorry I've waffled on a bit

oh oh! I know what you're thinking - be careful!

KangaMummy · 31/10/2004 20:06

how well do you know this friend?

2wildbabies · 31/10/2004 20:07

I don't think it would be 'the friend' but I think they may know something.

There is a lot of things that don't add up with the 3rd burglary

we are related by marriage. Dh is also suspicious.

I know there is nothing we can do about this, but I wanted others opinions on whether this sounds like a normal burglary or has something suspect happened.
