I haven't given up on this! But I had an abcess over the w/e and a tooth out on Monday, so have been too under the weather to attempt this before now
OK - I think I've nearly got it. I'm going to c&p here my translation with the remaining Norweigan words in bold so you can see how close I am and offer suggestions as to the missing words! One or two bits don't quite make good sense but I think that I can muddle through them [eternal optimist emoticon]
Norweigan Sweater
Size: approx. 6 months.-1 year Materials: cotton, 100 g yellow+ 50 g orange, or 100 g green + 50 g orange, or 100 g rose + 50 g orange. knitting needles: 3mm and 3 1/2mm, crochet hook to embellish: 3 mm. Gauge should be 25 st . in bredden on 3 1/2mm needles =10 cm. The green type, all dress knits after this pattern, but in different variations: see the end of pattern.
Back: cast on 80 st . on 3mm needles and knit 1 cm garter st. (all stitches knit), swap to 3 1/2mm needles and continue knitting in stocking st. When work measures 6 cm, decrease it 1 st . on each side of the middle 40 st . on needles. (knit 2 vridd k. sm. before, and 2 k. sm. after the 40 st .). Repeat decreasing for each 2. cm 5 times to, 68 st . again. When work measures 18 cm, begin raglan decreasing: decrease 1 st . on each side of needles. Repeat decreasing first on each 2. needles.(actually I think this might be decrease one stitch at each end of every 2nd row or some such: Norweigan is "Gjenta fellingen først på hver 2. p." as p stands for pinner and can refer to needles or rows - confusing!) until it is 44 st . again (12 times), so on each needles it is 24 st again. Cast off. The front is knitted in the same way as the back.
Sleeves: cast on 40 st . on 3mm needles , knit 1 cm garter st., swap to 3 1/2mm needles and stocking stitch. Increase 1 st on each side for each 2cm, 4 times, 48 st on needles. when sleeve measures 17 cm, decrease it 1 st . on each side. Repeat decreasing on each 2. needles (again is this "second row"?). until it is 18 st again (15 times), decrease thereafter 1 st . on each side of each row. Each until it is 10 st again. Cast off.
Yellow dress: knit sleeves and halskanten with orange yarn.
Green dress: knit sleeves in stripes, vekselvis 4 cm orange and 4 cm green. Halskanten knits with orange yarn.
Crochet embellishment: crochet hook 3 mm. Abbreviations: Lm. = luftmaske (chain stitch?), fm. = fastmaske (double chain?), kj. = kjedemaske (treble chain?).
Heart: cast on 2 Lm., crochet 3 fm. in 2 Lm. from hook. Turn for each row with 1 Lm., crochet fm. through both joins of st in previous row, increase 1 st . on each side of each row until it is 15 fm., increase så 1 st . in each side of each 2. row to 21 fm. crochet 3 rows without increasing, la så it middle st . stand and crochet each side for seg: crochet 1 row, decrease så 1 st . on outer edge of next row. Decrease 1 st . in each side of each of the next 3 raite (rows?). Fasten off. crochet it other side of midten finished equivalent. crochet 1 row fm. around whole of the heart.
Flower: cast on 5 Lm., saw in ring with 1 kj. Begin each row continue with 1 Lm., end with 1 kj. in this Lm., crochet fm. i both join of fm. in previous row. 1. row: 5 fm. i ringen. 2. row: 2 fm. in each st ., = 10 fm. 3. row: 2 fm. in each st ., = 20 fm. 4. row: Increase ved å crochet 2 fm. in each 2. st ., = 30 fm. Herfra crochets eacht flower petal for seg, eacht petal crochets over 5 st . and with 1 st . space, = 5 petal. eacht petal: crochet 1 row fm., turn for each row with 1 Lm. Increase on 2. row 1 st . in each side, = 7fm. crochet 2 rows without increasing, fell så 1 st . in each side of each of de following 2 raite. Fasten. when all petal is crocheted, crochet 1 row fm. around whole of the flower.
Circle: cast on 5 Lm., saw in ring with 1 kj. Begin each row continue with 1 Lm., end with 1 kj. in this Ln., crochet fm. through both join of fm. in previous row. 1st. row: 6 fm. in ring. 2nd. row: 2 fm. in each st., = 12 fm. 3rd. row: 2 fm. in each st . 4th. row: Increase ved to crochet 2 fm. in each 4th. st . 5th. row: 2 fm. in each 5th. st . 6. row: 2 fm. in each 6th. st . Fortsett (continue?) in same way until 9th. row is crochet 2 fm. in each 9th. st . crochet 1 row without increasing to end, Fasten with 1 kj.
Montering and neckline on dress: Fasten pieces with wrong side up on strykekledet with knappenåler press gently. The same for the dress except one piece of it one sleeve the seam behind. Pick up round neck approx. 62 st . on 3mm needles and knit garter st. 1 1/2 cm, cast off. Lykk splitten in the sleeve seam with hooks and flat buttons.
