I'm sorry for the contents of this on a sunday morning. if you've got a bad stomach DO NOT READ.

My dd took her nappy off and proceded to do a poo on the floor. She has then eaten the poo and i'm worried it may do her some harm. (she's only 15 months) Any advice???

don't hink it will harm her - just be matter of fact adn don't make it into a big issue - clean up then go have acup of tea - it may never happen again

Thankyou. I think i neede a little reasurance. Sorry to be so discusting on a sunday morning.
She's gone awfully quiet now and i'm wondering if she's going to be sick

I'm sure it won't do her any harm. She may be sick but then again could you blame her.
My cousin used to eat his dogs meat when he was a baby, and he is fine!

gothicmama · 31/10/2004 08:24

it's ok - she may be wroking out that she has done teh 'wrong thing' I would give her a cuddle and see how she is - hugs

jnbsmum · 31/10/2004 08:26

Thanks all. We're sat watching a vid having a cuddle. hopefully she will be fine. Thanks once again

don't worry I once found ds2 eating ds1's poo (there's a thread on it on here somewhere).

don't worry, jnbsmum. she has a inquisitive mind! bet she won't do it again though!

KristinaM · 31/10/2004 11:03

She probably didn't eat it, just got some on her hands and put her hands to her face/ mouth. You just found some on her face, right? I know its gross but if it upsets her tummy she'll throw up soon and then be Ok.

carla · 31/10/2004 11:06

jnbsmum... I know it's trivial, but at least you can comfort yourself by the fact that she won't be a fussy eater

jnbsmum · 31/10/2004 11:13

lol carla. You are right she is one of those who eats anything. Literally.
Kristinam she did have it all over her face, hands infact everywhere. She's still not been sick and she seems to be fine.
I thought it was bad enough when ds drew thomas the tank engine on his wall with his poo but this is worse.
The things our children do hey!

I thought poo was meant to smell bad just so that people wouldn't eat it!. She must have sweet smelling poo.

Branster · 31/10/2004 11:18

don't worry jnbsmum. I'm sure it won't harm her. Is she lacking in some minerals perhaps (dogs do that when this is the case so i was wondering if it's the same with humans?). it's probably just curiosity.

jnbsmum · 31/10/2004 11:20

I woldnt say its sweet smeeling. Bless her ive bathed her twice and she still smells.

My ds did a poo in bath the other day and was merily playing in it and sucking on the toys for a while before I noticed..!
I was supervising, but could only see his head from where I was sitting on the floor! Before I get accused of letting toddlers play in the bath alone.
By the way he had runny poos for about a week afterwards.

Never ate it, but I do remember pooing in a lunch box in my parents bed room !!!!! My darling sis, decreed that it was ascusting(15 months younger) and promptly coated every inch of the room in Dior or some equally expensive talcum powder.!!!!
