Corrupt dial up settings

I have re-installed my proper settings, but the corrupt settings keep reappearing (wrong dial-up number and user name).
I have virus checked but nothing is coming up. How can a get rid of it! I have a nasty feeling that we have been connecting to an international number - not looking forward to the next phone bill

Are you with BT? you can get them to put an international number ban on your phone for free. They could also tell you your balance on your phone bill and also advice you about diallers..what a nightmare

pixiefish · 30/10/2004 13:22

phone 150 if you're with BT and that'll tell you how much your phone bill is

Wallace · 30/10/2004 15:33

I'll do that online virus check thing to see if that works.
I don't think I'm brave enough to find out the balance on my phone bill (she says sticking her head in the sand...)
I might ban international calls - at least that way I'll have an excuse not to phone my parents in Africa, they'll have to phone me instead!

I keep on re-entering the right details manually, btu I have to do it every time I log on.

Forgive me if I'm asking you a really stupid question but have you re-set the default dial up in control panel.
If not- go to control panel.
go to network connections.
left clisk over the connection you want as your default and the menu comes up with various options- click- set as default.
Now do the same over the connection you don't want and click delete.
Sorry if I'm being obvious

Wallace · 30/10/2004 20:24

Thanks pixiefish I have done that, it is the default wanadoo connection that keeps getting changed.

Please keep the suggestions coming, even if you think it is something obvious, I may not have thought of it

is it the wanadoo pay as you go number perhaps? What's the icon on the control panel?

seems to be fine this morning. How odd. Thanks for your help
