I am applying for a job with thomas cook and need to learn some basic touristy geography.

I am crap at it, hated it at school and couldn't tell one country from another so HELP

Was trying to find some websites aimed at older kids really, cos i though it might be easy enough to underdtand then.

What kind of thing do you need to know Nutty? Just where certain countries are?? Or where resorts are too?

Why don't you get some travel brochures and familiarise yourself with those. Particularly TC ones if that's where the interview is for then you are fairly familiar with what they offer at least.

Maybe they'll ask you what you think of certain packages - like providing baby packs in apts and things like that.

Their brochures would be my first port of call actually.

HTH! Good luck too! Would love to work in a travel agent!

Somewhere like M&S or even The Works do large laminated world maps - it might be worth buying one and familiarsing yourself with it (once again - you can pass it off to the children )

Oh good ideas, thanks both of you.

Will raid the travel agents on monday and the Works too

Think it's the balerics (sp??) I need to know most about.

Right, the Balearics are Ibiza, Majorca, Menorca (think there's another but can't think of it) - they are a group of Spanish Islands to the East of Spain in the Med. Get their brochures and look them up and familiarise with main resorts!

Gotta go, Dh coming!!!
