My boss told me yesterday that I could only have one day off next week (half term) as she is "too busy" to cope without me. She is not in the office today or tomorrow and has left me piles of work which have to be completed tomorrow and which I know nothing about, so I didn't leave work today until 1930. Tomorrow will be the same. When I finally got home from work, the cat had peed all over the hall floor and to put the lid on it, my nanny has handed in her notice. She is doing a distance learning qualification and doesn't feel that she has enough time to do it in (not that she has made any effort to start it yet!). DD1 (who is a sensitive little soul) will be devastated. Her best friend, whom she has known for the 3 years we have been here, is leaving after half term to go to America and she is upset enough about that. So I have asked nanny not to tell DDs until nearer the time when she goes (she plans to go at Christmas). More for my DDs than myself. But admit I am wallowing a bit.
