When you are dashing to the loo at work with a tampon in your hand...

...please make sure that you carry it in your left hand. Because as you dash down the corridor, you will bump into your boss who just has to introduce you to Sir Somebody Very-Important-Indeed, who will thrust out his hand to shake yours while you fumble about, trying to shove tampon into a jacket pocket that won't open, while he and your boss stare at you Very Strangely Indeed. But at least I didn't drop the bloody thing.

I should get a mooncup really, shouldn't I?

Oh dear.

At school didn't the woman who di 'teh talk' tell you to disctreetly shove it up your sleeve?

FlameFromBonfire · 03/11/2007 10:32

lmao

Hard to shove it up sleeve in a short sleeved top

Sheherazadethegoat · 03/11/2007 10:34

you could just have waved it at them and said 'love to stop and talk but just need to shove this up my jacksie first'

harpsichordsgoingbangandwoosh · 03/11/2007 10:36

my first thought was - get a mooncup
oh you said that
terrible story though

WideWebWitch · 03/11/2007 10:50

Oh poor you. I will remember although I put mine up my sleeve usually and the left one because I am left handed

btw, you don't wear a long creamy coloured coat/jacket with swirly flower type patterns on it do you? A woman wearing this kept looking at me on the platform at Euston last week so just wondered! Not that anyone would know I'm www, so actually wtf am I on about? Ignore me!

unknownrebelbang · 03/11/2007 11:38

oh dear.

MrsSchadenfreude · 03/11/2007 11:47

WWW - noooooo! I am not a swirly patterned cream coloured coat person at all! My work clothes are remarkably dull.

I have, however, been scrutinising blonde women on the train all week wondering if you are one of them.

But at least I didn't drop the bloody thing.

that would have been on the way back though surely?

sorry

WideWebWitch · 03/11/2007 13:54

ha ha Mrs S! Well, we ought to have a password didn't we? So you'd come up and say "do you know if this train stops at Fanjo?" or somesuch! OK, not Fanjo but some mumsnet code. And I could say, "I think the next stop is Shadenfreude"

GunpowderDragonsAndSoup · 03/11/2007 13:59

"If you want some Fruit, Shoot over to Platform 4" ?

(I was thinking that about "But at least I didn't drop the bloody thing" too )

WideWebWitch · 03/11/2007 14:10

ha ha Soup! Yes, hey MrsS, what about "do you know if they sell fruit shoots in the buffet?"

Hekate · 04/11/2007 20:51

jacksie? isn't that your arse?

the things you office types do for entertainment.

LolaTheShowgirl · 04/11/2007 21:22

This is hilarious!

dooley1 · 04/11/2007 21:24

My sister dropped her handbag whilst waiting with commuters for a train that hadn't arrived yet at Victoria. It was filled, primarily, with make up and quite a large quantity of Super Plus Tampax. She was very very mortified that half a dozen or so people (mainly men) bent to help her pick them all up.

ShinyHappyRocketsGoingBANG · 04/11/2007 21:30

(Obviously it was open - she was groping in it for her phone - when she dropped it, which was why everything came out!)

pollywollydoodle · 04/11/2007 22:19

marginally less embarrassing than the original post but it reminded me of the time dd aged 2 walked behind me in merry hill repeatedly saying "mummy got a nappy on too" and patting my bottom
