OK, I'm not at work today, and want to take the children out.

I am taking them to Shark Tale tomorrow, so can't afford too much money on today, but last inspiration on what to do and where to go.

what about going out to collect some leaves from the park to make collages lots of crinkle noises etc. I saw a little boy (about 3) having a great time the other day picking up armfuls of leaves and carrying them and making a big pile of them about 3 foot away.

Where are you? How's the weather where you are?

kkgirl · 28/10/2004 09:23

I'm in Bristol, and its sunny, don't know how warm it is as I'm not dressed or showered yet. Would like to get out and about, but can't get inspired as to what to do.

Swimming? (sorry, I always suggest that as I find it quite a nice, easy activity to do with the 2 ds's).

Like the park idea - collecting leaves or conkers.

Have you got boys? Do they like trains? We take them to see the trains a lot or take them for a ride a few stops!!

We also go and watch the planes at Manchester Airport - not sure if you are near Bristol airport or whether there is somewhere to view?

Well, I'm in London, so many of my activity suggestions won't be appropriate. But, we've done some museum visiting this week as there are half term activities laid on. Anything near you?

Also, might be fun to have a fall picnic. Even if it's brisk, it may be one of the last chances to do it, so take advantage of the sunshine! We sometimes do sandwiches, fruit and a thermos of soup. Kids could have a kick about before and after food. Also with all these windy days, I keep thinking I should take dd kite flying. Have fun!

Trying to catch the leaves as they fall from the trees is quite fun. Took ds to Kensington Gardens yesterday and it felt very Mary Poppins with all the flying leaves.

Right, well, we've decided to go to a place called Cattle Country, and indoor and outdoor play centre. Not sure how much we can do today, but its sunny, and hopefully warm, she says trying to get up the enthusiasm to go!!!!!

Am I a terrible mum, I want them to have fun, but would rather stay at home, but feel as the weather is good should go out!!!!

I am itching to go out but am waiting in for a Next delivery (and possibly a Lakeland and a Lego one too - Christmas shopping online!)

Was going to suggest the library but Cattle Country sounds more exciting. Bizarre, but exciting. Have a good day!
