What about a big pot of curry plus all the bits samosas etc..

screaminghousewife · 31/10/2007 20:08

Do a sort of put your own food together type thing, you know, like greek meze (so out of fashion it's probably back in, go on be in the vanguard) or mexican bits, stuff you can knock together in advance. Or chili is always good, ifind.

BeetrootMNRoyalty · 31/10/2007 20:09

Chicken pieces on the bone, marinated in lemons, olive oil and herbs, rosemry or thyme or tarragon, salt and peper and bashed up garlic cloves, roast in marinade, serve with roasted veg & pots or vegetable rice, or salad and crusty bread. Make or buy a choc dessert.

screaminghousewife · 31/10/2007 20:13

You could do spicy wedgies, scrub some pots, cut them into wedges, in baking tray with oil, paprika and a touch of cayenne.

popsycal · 31/10/2007 20:13

ok no to fish pie......

are we on the right sort of 'impressing continuum' with fish pie though
as in something hearty and straight forward?

CadaverousCorpulentCarmenere · 31/10/2007 20:13

How about Baked Haddock with Chive Mash and sauteed spinach and a simple lemon butter sauce?

screaminghousewife · 31/10/2007 20:14

My chicken pot roast came out very well recently. Serve with crusty bread and either salad or veg.

chorizo hash
like corned beef hash
but sophisticated
very yummy

veggie....
Twig doesnt like my eternal suggestion of Delia's spinach and ricotta lasagne (which I always find that meat eaters love too) so I won't suggest that,....

BeetrootMNRoyalty · 31/10/2007 20:16
