saw a typo ON A VAN! from this company they spelled devatated as devestated

What does devatated mean

I've seen it spelt deverstated. And devarstated.

There is a bridal shop down the road call Absolutly Fabulous! I'm sure they were devatated (or devestated) when they found out they they got it wrong

Saw a van on Saturday with the Baked Potatoe Co written all over it. Obviously a Dan Quayle operation.

oooh coddy, I came onto this thread expecting a grammar howler or challenging grammatical query only to find it was spelling. How can you have got so confused?
