Hi all, I’m planning to move to Hastings from London with my 6 yo and 10 yo boys, following a break up with their father. I love london but can’t stay here anymore & i have friends in Hastings which is part of the appeal for me. My friends don’t have children however, and aren’t really plugged in to schools & activities for school aged kids. I’ve seen a beautiful house on Harold road, nr Clive vale that I’m thinking of putting an offer in on but don’t know much about the area. A bit worried as hearing on forums that there are a lot of social issues which in itself isn’t a massive worry (I live in Hackney, which has its fair share) but I’m sensing a bit of divide between the haves and have nots in that a lot of the parents I come across on threads & at house viewings, send their children to local privates schools. I can’t afford to do that and would like to think that there is a mixture of children at the local state schools. Just wondering if there are any mumsnetters who live in Hastings & can advise about schools, things to do, near Clive vale & also more widely - in case I don’t go for the Clive vale hse. Would really value some local intel.
