Didn't know where to put this but I'm looking for a dance class for dd (2.5 at christmas). The only criteria is that it must be on a weekend as I work full-time.

I've tried yellow pages and the local websites/paper etc and found 2 so far but are both on weekday mornings . Where could I try next?

I am prepared to travel up to half hour (so approx 30-40miles drive) from MK/Bedford area... anyone have any ideas??

TIA
Suzy

Sorry, I can't help. But have you tried asking the one's on weekdays if they know of a weekend class.

I work full time too, and am always distressed by the activities that happen only during the week. Perhaps you could hire a childminder/nanny part time who could take her whilst you work?

I asked them when I rang but they didn't know of any.

I was really hoping for something that I could take her too, wanted the chance to meet other mums as well... thanks though, am starting to think that I might have to wait until she's older!

think it might be a bit young .. when she's 3 there'll probably be ballet classes and such like

could you not extend your search to a music class that has jumping around / dancing in it? there's lots of those and should be some at weekends

Did you find anything in your region? Just wondering if Tumbletots might be any good. You could use it to fill in the time before she turns 3 and is old enough for ballet classes. My dd is younger (20 months) but she loves TT. There isn't any dance involved but a lot of emphasis on balancing. They also do songs with movements.

Would you go as far as Redbourn/Harpenden/St Albans? My dd does dance and Ballet on saturday mornings. Google Penny Waterman school of dance for details

I'm sure there was a MK gymboree class, and my dh used to take dd1 on saturdays

bundle - in MK? I used to take DD to the play session on Saturdays and there was a guy that used to take his dd!

They don't do dance though.

I would consider going as far as St Albans if it's not far once I got off the M1.

Thanks

no! we're in n.London, but not that north! i thought the classes they did were a perfect build-up to proper dance, we only took dd1 at 3, and even then she clung onto me for the first few weeks (unheard of behaviour, she's a confident outgoing little girl, been v sociable at nursery since she was 7 mths) - but now at nearly 4.5 it's perfect. she does tap too now.
