I'm looking for a job, not much available in our area due to the seasonal nature, but a job has come up as a dispensing assistant.
Is anyone here doing this? What is involved?

I'm very tempted to apply for it.....the only experience i have previously is retail, i ran my own business for ten years. What sort of qualitites are they likely to be looking for do you think?

Good customer and communication skills, which you probably have and to be non-judgemental. Confidentiality is important, too. It will also depend on whether they want someone with training/qualifications. But you've nothing to lose by applying - good luck!

the job gives wage details from school leavers up so i guess they aren't looking for previous experience.

I haven't had a job interview since i was 17 and as i'm looking for work, even the experience/practice will be worth it if i don't get the job.
There are likely to be lots of applicants, permanent jobs are like hens teeth round here.
I've done a little bit of research about the job on the net and it does enatil doing an NVQ once you are on the job. Apparently if the pharmacist thinks you are capable they can put you forward for further training to progress too......

I'm sure they will offer training, in that case. That'll add more strings to your bow. As you say, it will be good practise, if nothing else.
