For every word you get right, 10 grains of rice are donated throught the UN to help end world hunger.

According to their FAQ, when you play the game, advertisements appear on the bottom of your screen. The money generated by these advertisements is then used to buy rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice which is distributed via the United Nations World Food Program to those in need.

A much better use of time than playing solitaire in the spare moments which exist between working, sleeping and mumsnetting!

Jura - my dad used to get Reader's Digest in the 70s 80s heh, I'm far too young to remember the 70s, of course . I used to love to read them as a child, and I liked the adverts too ("Have you got DAKS appeal?" used to feature a lot. I never understood what it meant - apparently there was something special about the clothing - maybe the lapels were that bit wider and the flares that bit more flared).

Very good, but where are the adverts? According to the website they pay for the rice by selling ads. I cannot see any ads. Is it just me?

They were just words that kept changing underneath the word panel.

We did not pursue the word levels.

My DG is not competitive, whatever gave you that idea.
