Argh! Whose family for Christmas?

In my job I always have to work on call either Christmas or new year. I'm on maternity leave and won't be going back to work until January, so this is the first time since being with DP that I'll get both off, and it's likely to be the only time.

My family live around 15 minutes away, so if I'm working Christmas we dash over there, sit on the edge of our seats for a while, don't drink obviously, and dash back in case I get called out. We then go to DP's family, 5 hours away, for new year.

If I'm not working Christmas, we go to DP's family and see mine at new year (when I'm on call, so same dash in dash out scenario).

As this year's the only year I'll be free both, and I've got a little baby, will IBU to ask DP if we can spend it with my parents just this once, so I can enjoy myself? Or should we go to his because we didn't last year?

Need to discuss this with him soon and quite hopeful of getting my own way .

YANBU. We spend it at home every year makes life a lot simpler.

After 5 years of doing what my husband family wants(that doesn't include me in those plans,I'm left at home) This year my family are coming to us for christmas eve until boxing day then we are spending the rest of the holiday at home just the 3 or 4 of us Discuss with him and see what he thinks, can family visit you or isn't that possible
