I’m 38 years old and think I’ve started the menopause. I wondered how it started for others? Did your periods just stopped suddenly one day or become irregular at first?
i have bloods arranged for jan

I'm 42 and my always regular periods have gone from 28 days every single month to 23 days, 30 days then back to 28 days this month.
Wondering if this is the start too. Frankly, cant come quick enough, sick of everything to so with periods.

I'm nearly 51 and my periods are regular as clockwork when weirdly they were all over the place from my early thirties. They fell back into line when I hit about 44. However, I have started to notice that I "overheat" very quickly these days and this is exactly how my mum's menopause started at 52 so I reckon I'm just out of the starting gates. Libido has taken a bit of a dip this year but that could be attributed to having DH wfh and spending SO MUCH TIME with him. Grin

I was 41 and treatment I had put me straight into it. So I went from periods every 28 days like clockwork to nothing. Was strange

Looking back, the first sign was periods becoming few and far between. Doctor poo pooed this as a sign of menopause, which is a shame because it was early enough that I ‘ought’ to have had HRT.

First I knew of it actually being menopause was when I googled, ‘Why has my hair gone curly?’ And the answer was - it’s your hormones.

Horrendous headaches, joint aches and extreme fatigue around my period from about age 48 - much more than previous PMT. GP put it down to menopause (following normal blood tests). I'm 50 now and am largely managing those symptoms with diet and supplements. My periods are now becoming less regular.

Menopause is a state that is reached when you’ve not had a period for a year.

You’re talking about peri menopause which is the period leading up to the menopause.

Migraines and irregular periods

Rage. Irritation. Emotional. exhaustion. Where's my clitoris gone? Why am I so frigging hot inside but cold outside? Why cat I stay awake? Long periods, short periods, heavy periods, light periods then huzzah hooray, no fucking periods!!

orangeicecream · 31/12/2020 19:22

I'm 44 and I reckon I must be in peri-M..... Period cycles which were 26-28 each time are now.... Anywhere between 14 to 38 days long with some lovely flooding at times. No other signs as yet.
