I would like to tell everyone about my mum... who has just turned 70 (not 75 as I said on the other thread ). She is glamourous despite hardly ever dressing up; she is fiercely intelligent despite never making anyone else feel stupid; she has had a hot relationship with a toy-boy 6 years younger for 10 years ; she never disses my dad; when my dad got drunk and signed away our rights to our house she saved us from homelessness and worked us out of trouble; she is the perfect grandmother who gives both me and her daughter-in-law 'granny weekends' off from childcare every year; she drives 90 minutes every week to appear in my house, do half my housework, all my gardening and cheer up my son; she cooks and gardens like an angel; she will happily listen to any of us moaning on about our lives, without bringing it up two days later when we tell her that she doesn't know how to live; and she has used her retirement to globetrot to Costa Rica, Namibia, Australia etc whereas I only really want to go to France. I love her so much and although I wish she would spend more on herself and not tell me off about eating so much, these are small things. I really hope she emulates her own mother and lives to 97.
