Dh went for a job interview at the beginning of October. It all seemed positive and they showed an interest in him joining them. We still haven't heard from them so was thinking he should write a mail and ask how things are going. How would you word it if at all?

Ok would something like this sound alright or should he wait abit longer?

'Have you had time to consider my candidature? If you need any further information for example from a referee, please don't hesitate to let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you,
sincerely Dh.'

Well in my experience I always found out on the day of the interview or the following day so from my perspective they given it to someone else

I know that's the horrible feeling that I am starting to get too. If they want him they would have been in touch by now - I'm so sad if he doesn't get it, we want to get out of Germany

It varies and some types of company are more prone to take longer. If it is a position which does n't yet exist then there are probably budgetry and political aspects which come into play and can drag it out. Three weeks is a long time thoguh , time to follow up I think, a call to his contact or agency .

Some companies are notoriously slow! I once went for an interview and found out 4 weeks later that I had got the job......by then I had already started another one!

You could send an e-mail enquiring as to the stage they are at....at least if he did not get it you would know and would be out out of your misery!
