Name changes, so why have you changed yours?

Just for fun; I was just wondering why users changed their username? Is it because you posted something you regretted later? Thought we might get some interesting answers?

Nothing interesting at all I'm afraid. I have spent quite a lot of time on MN over the last 15 years and don't particularly want 15 years of me to be available to trawl through. Change every few months.

Same as PP. Although if people do an advanced search can they discover my posts under previous names?? Something I have always wondered.

Hopespring · 28/11/2020 21:56

I have only recently started using mumsnet. Didn't even realise you could look at previous posts.

How do you look at previous posts?

Sparklingbrook · 30/11/2020 12:52

If you go to Advanced Search you can input the user name and dates and search for posts they have made.

Not name changing works the other way for me. If I felt the need to post something under a different name I just wouldn't post it. You can AS me back to 2011 but I don't care. Grin

Yours is a name that makes me feel comfortable because you never change it since arriving on the scene Grin

I name change because I get incredibly bored very quickly.

Sparklingbrook · 30/11/2020 13:33

That's nice of you to say @LaundromatLinda but I think people have objections to people not namechanging probably. Grin
