I have created a spreadsheet but not sure how to do some things on it.

Its for my monthly outgoings.spending etc. I would like to get a new blank one for each month but i dont know how.

It owuld be good if i can have the tabs at the bottom with the months of the year so i can flick between them.

anyone know how.?

Thanks in advance

I just open a new spreadsheet for each month and then cut and paste what I need to move over and save uner that month so you can find it, not sure on tabs.

on the bottom, where sheet 1 is, if you right click on that tab and then go to Insert it will ask you what to insert and you say new sheet (then to name them, double click on the tab where it says Sheet1 and you can type the name of the month in so it shows on the bottom). Haven't got it on this computer but I'm pretty sure that's how I do it!

Click on "Insert" at the top of the spreadsheet, then "Worksheet"

You can then copy and paste your info between the worksheets

To change the name of the tab, right click on the tab itself then click "Rename"

HTH

Or you can do it Foxinsocks way

but how do you duplicate the spreadsheet without all the figures?

can you save the blank one as a template?
Just trying it now

Yes, "Save As" "Template" Then insert and select your saved one

SharpMolarBear · 18/10/2007 10:11

delete any unused sheets first, or you'll insert them too - it's the workbook that's the template

SharpMolarBear · 18/10/2007 10:15

not sure what you mean, sorry

GColdtimer · 18/10/2007 10:29

If you don't want to faff around with templates you could just copy the worksheet, paste into a new worksheet. Delete all the figures off and then copy the blank worksheet 10 more times to make your year. If you have formulas in your worksheet, do copy, paste special and then tick the "formulas" box. That way, it will copy your formulas without the values.

Does that make sense or have I confused people more.

SharpMolarBear · 18/10/2007 10:30

no, that seems much more straightforward!

jellyjelly · 18/10/2007 10:32

Thanks i am getting there now, just need to learn formulas now
