Hi Everyone

First post virginity going right here....shame its on something so dull!

Basically I am about to buy my first car, have only hired cars previously.
I am doing a few comparison insurance quotes before I do but they all ask about prior claims. The only claim made was an excess waiver claim against some minor damage done to a hire car. Although linked, does this need to be referenced do you think? It wasn't paying for the repair work, just a claim back for the excess payment as the insurance itself is covered in the car hire?

Any insight would be appreciated. :D

Did you damage the hire car? Who repaired it. The hire car insurers or a third party?

Yes I damaged the car unfortunately. It was minor that was repaired by the car hire insurers, not third party.

I would say no then. You haven't your own insurance before on your own car. However to be on the safe side I'd ring the insurer you want to use and ask them. If it flags up on CUE they'll think you're trying to hide it

Thank you @wishywashywoowoo70 Smile
I was hoping that would be the answer but yes, better to check than be thought of as misleading.
