Emergency Accommodation

Hi, I just wanted to ask if any of you or someone you know has been placed in emergency accommodation before. Some of you might have read my other post about my father being abusive, and I am now in the process of making sure things are followed up as they should be, and that I am given emergency accommodation as that is what was mentioned when having contact with DV association and council. I know many will say weighing the two situations up, it is better to leave what situation we are in, but I hear so many bad stories about really horrible places and those with kids being placed in very inappropriate places. I don't expect the Hilton but it's going in to the unknown, and if that is worse or just as bad as being stuck where we are, then it seems hopeless. I have lived in shared accommodation in my time and for a long stretch and it was awful, so knowing that I could be going in to somewhere with lots of others fills me with dread.

Any info advice or just anything you can say will be very much appreciated, thank you!

Emergency accommodation can be a room in a house with a shared kitchen/bathroom or a flat to yourself. It really depends on where you live and how pushed they are for space and housing.
