Petition for more pediatric nurses

I got this email last week from the owner of a stage school. I thought maybe some mumsnetters may like to sign the petition.

Just to let you know I have a rather special student called Lydia Cross who lost her legs to meningitis, she's 6 years old and attends x stage school with her 4 year old sister.

Lydia has had various bone trimming operations but even though she has false legs or attends in her wheelchair she never complains and is an inspiration to all her classmates and teachers alike.

Her Mum Jodie is currently trying to get 1 million signatures to campaign for more paediatric trained doctors and nurses and will be presenting the petition to Gordon Brown. Lydia has her own website www.lydiacross.co.uk

Lydia's family are liasing with the council to get the house adapted (its going to cost £60,000) and Lydia's Dad Tony is currently serving in Iraq, trying to help pay for it.

Anyway, I'm letting you know for two reasons - one is to get as many
signatures/hits on her website as possible for Lydia and the second is because Lydia and her Mum were invited onto "This Morning" next Monday to talk about meningitis.

or those of you who missed the programme, I can reveal that Lydia has
won a "Pride of Britain" award!!!

The awards are being televised on Wednesday 10th October, ITV, 9pm.

If you haven't already signed Lydia's website appeal for more trained
paediatric doctors and nurses - I urge you to NOW! www.lydiacross.co.uk
