i'm a huge scotland fan and my dad has bought tickets for a few games this season, really want to go but don't have anyone to leave ds with. he's nearly 5 months, is that too little to take along too?

I'd just be worried about him getting scared with the noise.

MummyToSteven · 19/10/2004 11:45

i would also phone up the ground to see if they have any minimum age restrictions for admission.

I'd try to leave him somewhere if possible, only because you can guarantee that just as it gets exciting he'll scream / get restless / need feeding and you'll not enjoy it.
Is their no-one that you can leave him with for an afternoon?

beansmum · 19/10/2004 11:49

didn't think of age limits, will have to check. don't think he would be too bothered by the noise, he's pretty nosy so would probably love having so many people around to stare at. although the more i think about it the more it seems like a really bad idea. not fair, i want to go, haven't been anywhere fun since ds was born.

the only people i could leave him with are my parents and they would want to be at the rugby too, could leave him with my sister if i could persuade her to visit for the weekend but she had her shoulder operated on recently so wouldn't be able to pick him up, feed him or change his nappy.

we took DS to harelquins when he was a baby he went in pram before they built all seater stadium, we tookhim to other ground and he sat on lap. the prob we had was that he got bored rather than the noise. and as we were seated we couldnt get out easily.

We havent taken him to twickenham yet.

Are you talking about 6 nations?

zubb · 19/10/2004 11:53

If your Dad has a few tickets could you do a deal where you go to one match and your Mum or Dad looks after him, and then they get to go to the others. Would one of them mind missing one match?

beansmum · 19/10/2004 11:57

its scotland-australia and scotland-south africa at murrayfield, no way my dad would miss them but maybe my mum might. will ask her very nicely.

We took ds to a football match when he was 5/6 months. The noise wasn't bad - especially as he was wrapped up in a snowsuit and a hat and all the shouting would have been muffled!
He was a bit grizzly for some of it but dh and I took turns walking him up and down, and didn't miss anything.

I say take him
