does anyone know what happens if you left the marina coil in too long,my fiance has had it in for five years but too scared to have it taken out and another replaced,for the last eight months she has had terrible mood swings and some depression but now she has told me she feels suicidal and has left me and taken our two children to live at her parents,she also has epilepsy,she wont go to the doctors im so worried as this isnt the woman i love so im asking for answers because i have none please help

Don't know anything about this but didn't want to ignore your post. Hope someone else who knows more comes along soon - sounds as if things are difficult for you at the moment. Best of luck to you - sorry I can't be of much help.

Sorry, I can't help but I didn't want to ignore your post either. Your fiancee really does need help and I hope someone comes along soon with some good advice. I don't know whether the Mirena coil can cause these problems but whatever the cause she really does need to see a doctor. Depression and suicidal feelings won't go away on their own, she needs help and she needs it now. She also needs emotional support from those around her, which may be why she has gone back to her parents for a while. I'm not suggesting that you haven't been supportive but perhaps she just needs to remove herself from the situation for a while.
