Anyone know of any good swimming pools in South Wales, newport area? Planning to go swimming with Dd 13months for the first time (with MIL as well). Looking for somewhere that has nice changing room facilities etc. I havent been swimming in literally YEARS and have moved down from london, so have no idea where to go.

Thanks

I think a new swimming pool opened in Newport a short while ago - near the velodrome I believe. Last time I went swimming in Newport was to the Newport Centre - there was a shallow 'walk in' bit and it has (had) slides, wave machine etc. Can't tell you what it would be like now though and with all the roadworks going on around it, I think it's quite hard to get to at the moment.
I live in Cardiff and have been taking DD (now 14mths) to Llanishen Leisure Centre for a while. It too has got a shallow 'walk in' bit with wave machine (though this tends not to be on when we're there - luckily). The changing rooms are clean and warm though the tiles at the edge of the pool look as though they could do with a quick scrub with some bleach!
I don't know if there are any sports clubs in Newport (David Lloyd etc.) but there are several in Cardiff and look very nice - but then of course for the fees they charge they should be!
