i usually pay £3.99 for tesco to delivery on a wed or a tues. they have upped their delivery charge which, on my tiny budget, is daft.

I cannot physically get to the shops and back so where does everyione else do their online shop? and what do they charge? i know sainsbo is £5

should add that i know i can stil get £3.99 delivery but because of where i live the chances of them finding my housein the dark is v v slim! and 11 o clock is too late

My local Asda
Monday £4.25
Tuesday £3.75
Weds £3.75
Thurs £4.25
Friday, Sat and Sun are all £4.75

MerlinsBeard · 09/10/2007 09:47

if you get an Asda credit card and you spend over £99 it is free

I get an online shop from Asda shared with my mum and our elderly former next door neighbour

so we usually don't pay - if it is below £99 we split it

I use Abel & Cole who don't charge for delivery as long as the value of the groceries is over £8 unfortunately they don't stock everything I need as they really are more fruit and vege box people than a proper supermarket so I still have to get DH to pick up a few things from the supermarket on the way home from work. Good luck, mumofmonsters, it's a pain not being able to get to the shops.

Currently I am using Asda, becasue of crap custmoer service from Tesco (as an apology they offered me £5 off a £100 shop!)
I like Asda, the drivers are really helpful, they bring the shopping intot eh house for me, will help unpack if I ask them. The only thing I don't like is that for loose fruit and veg they don't let you put in the quantity, you must put the weight, so instead of 6 Golden delicious apples, then you ahve to put down a weight, such as 500g. Another plus is that if you order say a £3.99 bottle of wine and they subsittue it with one that is £8.99 they won't charge you the difference( if it's an Asda brand thing), whereas tesco do, and soemtimes Tescos subsitutes are quite a bit more expensive

MerlinsBeard · 09/10/2007 09:53

maybe you could double up with a neighbour?

confusedotcom · 09/10/2007 09:54

mom if you search on the internet you can find tesco codes which give discounts of between £5 and £10 so covering the delivery charge.

saltire · 09/10/2007 09:55

Theres a thread on here with tesco codes, I think it's in good housekeeping, but could be wrong. DO a search for messages and look for tesco codes

ChasingSquirrels · 09/10/2007 09:58

ours still has some £3.99 (after 7pm Tue & Wed and 9-11pm Mon) but the 9-11pm slot on Tue and Wed has gone DOWN to £3.75.
Most expensive slot is 9-11am Fri & Sat.
I guess it is supply and demand and they are trying to get the best use of their vehicles - reasonable I think.
You can always find a code for a fiver, or 500 points which is better if you use them for deals.

Sheherazadethegoat · 09/10/2007 09:59

i have NEVER paid for a delivery there is always a code that at least covers the cost of the deliver.

RubberDuck · 09/10/2007 09:59

Sainsburys is £5 or £2.50 if you shop on a Tues, Weds or Thurs and spend more than £70.

MerlinsBeard · 09/10/2007 10:01

i can't believe i forgot about finding codes online !!

i can't double up with a neighbour, they are rich and have ocado and she actually sneared at me when i said i use tesco

my budget this week is a measly £65-£70 and thats to feed 4 of us for as long as i can stretch it. i have a list...its made of iron lol!(ie nothing can be added)

www.hotukdeals.com/?merchant_filter=27&category_filter=All&type_filter=Voucher&availability_f ilter=All&statusfilter=Active&orderby=Newest is a good one. Could you order your shop in 2 lots and get £20 off??? probably not.

ChasingSquirrels · 09/10/2007 10:04
