cirbs - swinging or gliding or static?

Pregnancy hormones making me unable to make simplest decision... Anyone have experience of what's best - wooden cribs that swing, glide or don't move? Thought the gliding motion would be best. Does it make any difference?
And has anyone found the gliding type cheap?

Wouldn't bother IMHO, we got one for DD1 as she was in our cramped room and we knew we were moving soon. Anyway she never slept in it (another story we ended up cosleeping) but they can only be in it until they can pull themselves up at about 6 months. Moses basket best when they are tiny then into a regular cot.

I know they look lovely I had all the Winnie the Pooh drapes and everything (first time parent) but it was a big waste of money. For DD2 we had a bedside cot which is the best thing ever (I could sell them), one side folds under the cot and it is adjustable up to the height of your bed so baby is in it's own cot but v close to you for night feeds. It also converts into a regular cot when needed.

I had a swinging crib but tbh never used the swinging function. DS was in his till around 6 months - I didnt get a moses basket as they last even less time. You dont need to spend a fortune on a crib - I got a nice but basic one from babiesrus for around £60 which included a mattress. I thought the crib was well worth the money and it was well used.

This is pretty much the one we bought - Swinging crib - although we never used the drape rod thingy that came with it.

I have one but neither of my dds liked sleeping in it. I Found when I did put them in it they didn't sleep too well as they tended to bang their hands on the sides which woke them up. Slept like logs in their moses basket and pram. Just about to put dd2 in her cot, she is 15 weeks.

At the moment ours is sitting in the corner of the bedroom filled with cuddly toys!
