Hi there, I recently got an offer from the housing Association however I'm stressing out.
Do the do credit checks? As mine is poor, and I don't earn enough for the private rent! Its stressful, they are ment to make up their decision in a week or longer.... And I'm worrying they might refuse of credit check or I'm not eligible even tho they said on the pre interview I am. I guess I'm just winding myself up. Its in Wales.

I’m not in Wales. But in Yorkshire they do not do credit checks. I’m sure you will be fine OP.

They normally check affordability, so are probably more concerned with income, rather than credit checks. However some do check with Experian etc. Whether you are successful or not there are things you can do to improve your score. Google it and start working to improve your rating. It is possible with some discipline and motivation.

Our HA do an affordability check rather than a credit check. They ask for 3months bank statements and details of benefits etc.

They also have in-house welfare support who will make sure you are claiming everything you are entitled to and help you if they think you are due more.

Some don't even want a deposit.

Thanks a lot! Im more at ease my friend says I am over thinking it. Even my credit score might be not as bad as I'm thinking to be fair.( didn't check it and don't have credit cards/rent/bills debts) I guess I'm just thinking of it as same to private renting. Hence all the "checking" worry!!! (as we all know private let agencies can be tricky!)
I live in private rent which charges £30 for a nail in the wall! ( new update to contact) 😂

They check Experian any ccjs etc is flagged
