Is it worth the trip these days? Last went when it hadn't long been opened and was a bit feeble tbh, Clarks didn't even do kids shoes.

Yes. M&S just seems to have stuff you have never seen in the proper shops. I don't think the prices are that good. The toy shop is quite nice and I got some trendy jeans from Pilot but TBH I would only go again to get the kids some clothes from Asda.

It probably depends how far you'd have to travel.

My brother & his family love going when they're staying with my parents though.

i live 10 mins from there ! i can honestly say it depends on what you want, went there the other day and ended up spending money in the toy shop!

I have never been that impressed with it tbh. The clarks there only has a small range of childrens shoes, next to none of which are actually clarks shoes!
The clothes shops just stock rubbish that hasn't sold in the sales IME.

I'm not actually after Clarks shoes per se , just a decent selection of stuff and preferably some footwear for dd and me. tbh it is dh's suggestion and as his interest in shopping is so rare .... If not there where in SE has a better choice of outlets ?

I quite like it - and it takes me about an hour to get there! I only go about twice a year, but it's a good (different) day out for me. Went a couple of weeks ago and got a great rucksack in Samsonite, a few bits in Gap, some books, some trainers, can't remember what else.

Depends where you live and what you need to get really. You can get some great bargains, but other times not find much.

Plus, there's a Matalan and an Asda nearby, neither of which I have near where I live, so they're good for a change too.

Just to add that a lot of the more normal shops have gone (Pilot, Body Shop) to be replaced by more expensive shops. There is now a Next, which is OK if you've got ages to rummage through the rubbish.

They've put the parking charges up too. I believe it is now £1 for 2 hours or £10 all day. It's a shame because I used to pop over there quite often but have hardly been at all since they started charging.

Well we've been. Got there for 11 and it was quiet until lunchtime. Did the round and got some bits for the kids (Mexx was good and Reebok for trainers), Gap patchy and not that cheap, Clarks kids just setting up but overall not that cheap, Next and M and S a jumble sale of not such good items which hadn't sold, some bargains to be had for the persistent and skinny/large though.

dd enjoyed the play area, we had lunch then moved on to TK Maxx, where got dd some bargain boots, and came home . tbh I would n't do it often but as a jaunt it was fine and what we expected. Parking was £1 for 4 hours , £10 all day.
