Oh dear Ive forgotten my pill!

Ok I forgot to take my pill yesterday which I usually take about 5pm after dinner. I realised this about 1pm today, so took it, but now Im at my mums and forgot my pill pack, so now I am going to be another day late taking it. How is this going to affect me? Is it going to be a problem?

Shouldn't be a problem.

Just carry on taking your pill as normal for the rest of your cycle, but do take extra precatuions just in case.

I would think you need to count yesterday's as a missed pill as you were more than 12 hours late taking it. The one you took at 1pm today should do you as today's pill, but you should probably take extra precautions for the next 7 days.

So Ill be okay if I take it tommorrow lunchtime and be careful the next week?

You need to take exrea precautions as directed on the packet as there is a risk that you might have ovulated. The 'riskiest' ones to miss are the ones at the start and end of the pack, but missing one at any time can risk ovulation

have a look at exactly what is listed on your pack leaflet. It will tell you what to do. From memory (and it has been a while so this could now be out of date), you muct use extra precautions for the rest of the pack. If there are 7 or more pills left in the pack after the missed one, take as usual. If there are less than 7 pills left in the pack don't leave a 7 day gap but take the next lot of pills without a break. If you don't bleed at the end of the next pack, test for pg.

In which case you should take extra precautions (condom, or cap and spermicide, not safe period) for the rest of this packet. At the end of the pack stop as usual for 7 days and then resart your next pack as normal. You will be OK during your next pill pack.
