How wide is it?

I need to buy a wrist support, I can't find the tape measure but I found string... turns out that my wrist is the same circumference as a dvd box is wide

13.5cm or 5 and 2 little bits inches.

serenity · 04/10/2007 13:10

Good grief your wrist is tiny!

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 04/10/2007 13:11

13 1/2 cm wide, 19 cm long

or if you prefer old-style: 5 inches and two little bits wide and 7 1/2 inches long

was I first, please tell me I was the first one to get the tape measure out

(sorry about your wrist btw)

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 04/10/2007 13:11

bugger. I wasn't first

serenity · 04/10/2007 13:12

Beat you

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 04/10/2007 13:12

serenity didn't know what those little bits of inches are called either

flowerybeanbag · 04/10/2007 13:13

Aren't they called 'fractions of an inch'?

Catchy!

I made it 13.7 and 5 and 4 little bits..

serenity · 04/10/2007 13:14

I think, going on the concensus, 'little bits' is the official term (or it should be anyway).

Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:16

Thank you - and now I am even more

X-small - 11.5-13cm
Small - 14-15.5cm

I have a feeling my one for my left wrist was an XS because she had to go away and hunt out the rarely used box

Yes, I do have teeny wrists, dainty little hands too, not entirely sure what happened with the rest of me!

concensus consensus, bugger.

Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:17

The little bits are indeed called little bits.

Tis taught in schools.

Or it would be if they used inches.

(No "little bits" on the site though, hence going for the cms measurements)

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:27

Which size do I get?

OP posts:
serenity · 04/10/2007 13:31

How does your current one compare to your piece of string? If it's smaller it must be an XS, so get that - if it's a bit bigger get the S instead. You know, you post on MN, you should have proper truck drivers hairy wrists, then you wouldn't have this problem.

Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:34

You're just getting cocky now

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:42

So... the original support it seems still has a label (I was convinced it had washed off) - with a size, and a company name

OP posts:
DoctorFrankenSquonk · 04/10/2007 13:43

pmsl

Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:45

Now I have to pay silly postal prices to get it couriered otherwise it won't get here til after the strike

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 04/10/2007 13:54

That cost a fortune in the end... do you think I can write it off as a business expense and say it is carpal tunnel?
